In the forest we dance and we sing
We’re the creatures untamed by a king
We follow nature and nature provides
We won’t adhere to those holy lies
To the city we came to feed
Seeking knowledge to fill a need
Of understanding our own portrayal
The rules that govern where we set sail
Life, to live it rightfully
I say, we need to find a way
Time, might bring balance
Astray, it’s just another day
Time went by and we hungered for more
We peeled the onion but we found no core
Our time was spent trying to drench our thirst
With substitutes that felt good at first
We got blinded by the light ahead
Seeing contours and shadows instead
We forgot what we’re searching for
Slowly drifting to find a shore
Life, to live it rightfully
I say, we need to find a way
Time, might bring balance
Astray, it’s just another day
Life, to live it rightfully
I say, we need to find a way
Time, might bring balance
Astray, it’s just another day
(part II : Pavlovian Conditioning)
The world is spinning round, round and round
While we are all still stuck on the ground
The assembly lines are bringing us up
By slowly inflating the pup
You’re just another tool in the shed
They sharpen you until you are dead
We’re functioning therefore we are
Pathologizing all that’s bizarre

BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced... When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-) Carsten Pieper

What can I say about Big Big Train that I haven’t said before?
This album took a little while to grow on me but by the time I saw it live I was in love with its humongous, over-egged pomposity! They do it all with such passion, excitement and amazing musicianship.
